Most of arranged marriages are under the persuasion of the Hindu culture, this culture is popular practised around the globe. According to the Hindu Marriage Act of 1955, the bridegroom must be over 20 and the bride over the age of 18 at the time of the marriage. At one time or another these laws allowed child marriages but it was repealed by the Child Marriage Restraint Act, 1929 in 1978.
It states that anybody under the age required will be imprisoned for up to 15 days and the caregiver of the child who didn't prevent the ceremony from pulling through will be imprisoned to the extent of 3 months, although this only applies to men. No woman shall be punished.

Australian Law
The Australian Marriage Laws, Marriage Act, 1961 Section 12 state that unless you apply to a judge or magistrate you can not wed under the age of 18. It defines marriage as the union of a man and a woman to the exclusion of all others, voluntarily entered into for life.
